Morality System explained and six player instances mentioned in Goha.ru Preview

The morality system in SWTOR is one that has been of much contention for the past couple weeks since the developer panel at Comic Con where the developers mentioned the posibility of being dark, light, or gray on either side. In this latest SWTOR preview from Goha we get an even bigger glimpse at the way the system will work at retail:

For his own good. Obeying, he ordered all the same to make a jump, and after the dialogue we have 2 points lighter side of the Force. We do not believe our eyes. It turns out, you can. But still - be a Light Sith can. And get special, unique ability to light side. Like a Jedi of the Republic can no obstacles stand in the dark side of the Force. Moreover, even the developers have implemented a third, gray way, something that has little outlines of KotoR 2. Those who are trying to maintain a balance between the sides of the Force. Also waiting for their unique abilities.

The depth that this system could offer in the future is immense and we can't wait to see it at work in the future.

Six Player instances reference:

In all instances (in the SW: ToR "flashpoint") can go 6 characters, each of which will be followed by his companions.

It should be noted that this has been translated using Google's translator and the translation is obviously a little iffy. If we can find someone to translate this we will update this post in the future.

Hers a thought: 4 classes per side, and 6 person groups. Means there will always be class overlaps for loot. Since I'm playing a Death Knight in WoW, I can tell you, that is not very fun.

Maybe they'll do a DDO style loot system, where each person loots for their own drops, that way it isn't annoying having to share a party with the exact same class 50% of the time.

I was just going to say, I hate it when someone speaks in broken english to inform me about something I want to know. This reads like Uwe Boll explaining a film project XD

Nice to see "Gray Jedi" get some support as a viable path to take, unlike previous KOTOR games.

There will always be some points where it is impossible to go gray, such as the "Kill the Captain" moment. If you spare him it is good, if not it is bad. I didn't see option #3, "Give savage beating" but it doesn't sound too gray to me.

If you played Mass Effect, there was always a third option that didn't give you any good or bad (light/dark) points. Maybe they will implement something similar for the grey-siders?

Well, you could just balance out your LSPs and DSPs. So one instance you kill the captain for DSPs, next time do something good for LSPs. A grey sider could mean you have no problem doing what some might consider dark or some might consider light, thus you're grey, and you play your story accordingly.

Yeah, only problem is I think most people want to go grey :P I'm polling now on the Official TOR Forums: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=61279 :D

Like I mentioned in your post, I'm going dark, but if there was a neutral faction, I'd be dark neutral...Ooohh...even no faction at all, I'd be down for that option as well...yet still staying dark.

...dark-siders get the babes you know ;)
