Trooper abilities broken down into words

Just when I thought there was no way for BioWare to possibly design a class that will be more fun to play than a laser-sword wielding ninja-monk they release game play footage of the Republic Trooper. When BioWare stated each class would represent an iconic character from the movies they were not mistaken, however, the Trooper is not from either George Lucas trilogy. No, this guy is straight up Rambo

The opening sequence of the video starts off by showcasing the troopers ability to switch weapons out of combat to better prepare for specific encounters, which is good news for gun lovers as this class is sure to pack an impressive arsenal of havoc wreaking weaponry.

Our first look at trooper abilities is an attack called Firebomb. On a 60 second cool down, this attack carries a range of 5 to 30 meters and has a very explosive animation. It looks just like it sounds, bombing multiple enemies and engulfing them in flames. This is a damage-over-time ability that lasts 5 seconds and affects several targets at once.

The second special attack noticeable in the video is a 4-second channeled ability called Full Auto. The trooper leans forward and plants his feet (which indicates you cannot move when using this attack) and the rate of fire increases significantly, doling out massive amounts of destruction. This is an interruptable attack as the first attempt to utilize the ability was failed due to unknown actions by the NPC enemies. It appears to be on a 15 second cool down timer.

The trooper is a ranged class but also not at a loss when in close. There is an attack that allows you to strike an enemy with the butt of your weapon and knocks them to the ground, seemingly stunning them for several seconds.

Throughout the massive amounts of rounds fired by the trooper there are several explosive attacks laced into the combination, easily breaking up the monotony of auto-attacking with a rifle. At one point the trooper even throws a timed explosive that sticks to the enemy before detonating in a fiery mess and taking down multiple targets.

With the trooper BioWare is demonstrating their ability to create compelling classes that will be exciting to play. After watching the damage potential of this class, any worries that jedi or sith will rule the damage meters and pvp battlegrounds have been put to rest.

I have a feeling that the empire will get a similar class to keep the balance, Mandalorians anyone?

Finally they show us something about the trooper.
It was like:
Class reveal, we made a trooper that can use big guns
then nothing more until now.

Great work as usual. Smuggler was slowly romancing me away from Trooper but it feels as if Trooper is pulling me back.
