I loved the first two games, although the second one seemed to run a bit short. I will be very interested to see if they release the new one for XBox 360.

Doubt it, MMOs don't work very well on consoles, with a few exceptions like FFXI. You end up losing something in the PC version if you focus on the console port. For example, FFXI's PC controls are terrible, and the game is constantly being held back the PS2's capabilities. You can't improve FFXI's graphics because they have to work on the PS2. On the other hand, LotRO is PC-only, and added support for DirectX10 for top of the line graphics, and is adding support for DirectX11 next year to push it even further.

Along with that it is easier to add patches if it is only on computers. When on a console hard drive limits and hosting programs come into play. Just imagine if ToR had to first get the OK from XBox Live every time they needed to do a minor patch.

Plus the red tape about people not wanting to pay a monthly fee in addition to the XBoxLive fee. People seem to think that the XBL fee would somehow cover the MMO fees, despite none of that going back to the MMO companies.

Its quite a while after the things that happened in KOTOR. I'm sure there will be slight references to the game but considering a lot of the people that will be playing TOR probably haven't played KOTOR, I wouldn't think that you're going to need knowledge of what happened in KOTOR. However, I'm sure that once you understand all those references they make to the Mandalorian Wars, Revan, the Exile, etc. etc. your gaming experience will be enhanced.

KotOR and KotOR2 setup some of TOR's backstory(TOR is 300 years after KotOR), but BioWare's been giving regular timeline updates and webcomic issues so non-KotOR players will know what's going on. Reading the Wookieepedia should fill you in all the essentials if you read the right pages.

Nuts, I was copying my lightsabre sig. Anyway this is great that a) Darth Hater got keys for KOTOR on Steam, and b) you're giving them to the comunity.

I've personally purchased the game in retail stores at least twice. I love it. I always go dark side (even when I start out TRYING to be light side).

I wonder if there'll be a similar treatment for the slightly less popular KOTOR II? I had a pretty rough time with The Sith Lords, probably because it wasn't finished, although I'm hearing rumors recently that the fan-made patch for KOTOR II was finally released to the public!!

I'd love to try Dark Side in a game, but every time I try to be mean, I can't do it. I feel too guilty about it and don't go through with it. I only got Dark Side ending on KotOR1 because I confronted Bastila in the Lehon Temple and joined her rather than fight her(I fell to the dark side out of compassion for Bastila, not meanness to anyone).

For me it's the exact opposite, I've started new games saying to myself "I'm a good guy this time. I'm a good guy, do good things." But the dialog options always lead me down a dark path.

(Gross exaggeration)
NPC: I'll give you this holochron, but first you need to go out into the swamp and rescue 20 orphans without hurting any indigenous life forms.

ME: Or I can just kill you and loot your corpse...

SFX: BRZSHHHHHH... KYTZCH...

NPC: Ughhh...

I came for the Dissections myself, and stuck around for the other stuff. No other TOR site has as much content I think. Those Dissections are certainly unique, we've gleaned a lot of info from them. :D
