Welcome to the first Week in Review for November. The goal of this post is to wrap up the most important articles from the first week's writings and give an easy reference for those who are interested in browsing through them. Without a further ado, lets start.
BioWare Licenses Graphic Tech from UmbraWritten on 11/2/09 by Dover, this article describes the occlusion culling technology that BioWare licensed from Umbra. Umbra's occlusion culling technology is designed to let the GPU know what parts of the environment a player is actively looking at, allowing it to reduce the polygon count in unseen areas, minimizing the strain on the processor. Freeing up these resources could increase a game's visual complexity.
The Old Republic Novel coming in 2010Written on 11/3/09 by Sado, this article tells about the announced
Star Wars: The Old Republic novel by Sean Williams that is scheduled to be released on July 27, 2010. Whether this hints at a possible release date or not, only time will tell.
Bad News MacWritten on 11/5/09 by Zoidberg, this article tells about the restriction of early game testing to Windows users only. That isn't to say that later on Mac users won't be able to join in on the fun, but as for now, it would seem as though Mac users are standing in the dark.
Imperial Agent Revealed at European Press EventWritten on 11/6/09 by Dover, this article describes the surprise reveal of the Imperial Agent class, as well as the few screenshots we have of this class. Although the release of this class was expected, it certainly wasn't expected this soon after the Jedi Knight class reveal.
Imperial Agent Screenshot DissectionWritten on 11/6/09 by Dover with contributions from the entire Darth Hater staff. This article takes the screenshots that were revealed of the Imperial Agent class and dissects them. Wielding sniper rifles and armored jumpers, the Imperial Agent looks like a class that will soon be hated by all who encounter it.
That concludes this week's wrap-up. We are constantly trying new things here at Darth Hater in an attempt to become the number one resource for fans of The Old Republic. If you have any thoughts or opinions, please let us know in the comment section. Stay tuned to Darth Hater for further updates and in-depth articles concerning
