PC Games Reveal Final Classes?

A couple days ago we reported that a German gaming publication called PC Games was featuring Star Wars: The Old Republicas a cover story. Donner, a commenter on our site and the one who originally notified us of the article, is reporting the main feature of the December issue does indeed reveal the last two classes as being the Jedi Consular and Sith Inquisitor.

Donner informed us that, after visiting a local gas station, he was able to retrieve a copy of the anticipated magazine. He also noted that the featured article not only lists the two classes, but also a small series of possible names from those classes’ abilities. Additionally we have been provided scans of the issue in question and they appear to be authentic, however we are unable to reproduce the images on our site. Stay turned to Darth Hater and we’ll try to keep you up to date as information comes in from Germany.

  1. Regardless of feelings about the classes, I think Donner gets a huge amoung of props for helping those of us that support DH to get that reveal first. Here’s to you Donner!!

    • /props

    • Very true. A big thank you from everyone at Darth Hater to Donner and all of the other members of the community here that help give us a heads up on fresh TOR info!

  3. guys dont be too dissapointed, this is actually good news. Now 50% of the population wont be playing 25% of the classes. Sure the names are kinda cheesey but we all knew this had to happen. MMO’s need heals, this is how they work. What I want to know is why the European press seem to be getting the info first all the time. The Imperial Agent was leaked first and now these?

    • We kinda want to know that too Panzzer, probably a marketing choice because of the strong support they already have in North America.

    • If those 50% only have 25% of the classes to choose from to get what they want, maybe they’d consider trying the other 75% of the classes for more options. But with 50% of the classes having what they want, they’re less likely to play the non-Force classes than they were when non-Forcies potentially made up 75% of the classes. It’s all about the balance of power here, we needed majority non-Forcie classes to balance out all the newbs rolling the Forcies. It’s fairly simple math.

      • I too said that before rougejedi, and I agree with you. But I also agree with Panzzer, now when you see a jedi or sith anything, no offense to thouse who will roll either class, they’re most likely a noob, or a 8 year old kid who thinks he “wil be da best sith eva!” (Yeah I know 8 year olds don’t talk like that, lol, trust me my bros 8).

    • I guess that’s the bright side of it all

  4. Called it. ^_^

  5. Regardless….

It is TACO night. And consume tacos I shall!

  6. I’ve pondered the question of the possibility of 4 Force using classes since the release of the Sith Warrior, and funny enough, never really pondered if I liked the idea until I read the comments on this page…

    And honestly… I like it!
The game being story driven, I think a lot of bad comments are coming from people who judge the game from a combac mechanic point of view. But from a story point of view it makes sense to me.
I’ve had a lot of concerns about the Sith Warrior lacking many well known Sith traits, combat or story wise, from the description we were given. And, if there is indeed a Sith Inquisitor, I hope it will close this gap… Only Robes, intricate plots, etc.
Same goes for Jedi Knights, these are clearly not the comtemplative type we know exist…
I’d agree though that many abilities should be logically redundant, but I’m not considering myself dissapointed until the classes are confirmed, and their combat mechanic revealed…

  7. [...] bit of Old Republic news that’s actually put me in a bad mood, but here goes: apparently the final two TOR classes have been leaked, and yup, they’re both Force-using Jedi/Sith-heads.  AKA, Jedi Counsular and the Sith [...]

  9. Jedi Consular: I am a powerful Jedi Consular, master of the force. using the wisdom and teachings of the Jedi Council I will tr…
    Group: Heal plz
    Jedi Consular: /facepalm

  10. Here is google translate of the Jedi Consular box took me a while to type it all in and it is about 90% accurate, I think.

Class number 7 is the Jedi Consular. In contrast to a few weeks ago revealed to the Jedi-Kinight Consular is not found in the front row. Although he can also deal with the consular lightsaber but powerful enough to tackle Ranged skills such as “sleep”, “lifting” or “crush”. The class is available to be aggressively focused on damage or specializes on healing. Thus the Jedi Consular is an extremely powerful support class in The Old Republic.

    • Here is the Inquisitor translation this is a more of a engrish Google translation that I am used to.

Inquisitor of the Sith is the last of the eight character classes, which will go with the launch of SWTOR to the start. The Inquisitor is the counterpart of the Consular and also a champion of the second row. With Machtfähigkeiten like the “shock” or “lightning discharge” equipped, he heats his enemies a properly what we saw for ourselves in an extended gaming session. A quest sent us into an ancient Sith grave, where it is swarming with giant killer worms (K’lor’slug Ravager) and Imperial only so deserted. With the splash damage skills “overload”, which stopped at nearby enemies, not only violated, but also knocks down and stunned for a few seconds, we quickly terminates the brood.

  13. First, I have to ask: Is that magazine available in English? I mean, sure I could read some of it in German, but I’d prefer English (:P). Second: Ugh two more force user classes, oh well, I hope it won’t end up to bad and the classes just going back and fourth from being OP to non OP. But From the sound of their class names they do sound like force oriented classes. They both sound interesting, but I’m sure right now that half the community is thrilled to see two more “force” classes, and the other half, eh not so happy. I predict a future poll titled: Do you like the last two class ideas? Yes/No? This should be fun to see Bioware unroll these classes. The reaction of the community will be funnier see.

  14. I’m just disappointed that they’re using the Inquisitor name. The Jedi gets the iconic name Jedi Knight while the Sith get the lame names Warrior and Inquisitor :(

  15. I’m looking forward to all the new info, but more force users is not what I expected.

  16. Guess 4 force classes will help spread out the begining rush. Rather than having the realm littered with jedi warriors everywhere (to where the jedi class might become thought of as the class for noobs) there will be a bit more variety in the jedi. I’m happy about this. I can see it helping with the balance.

  17. My very first post on SWTOR forums were my wishes to be a force mage. So you would think I would be excited to know that I would get the opportunity to play one. And you’d be wrong.

I mean, c’mon, a mage? Really? In Star Wars? Because that’s what you’re looking at, a mage/warlock w/o the pet or probably even a priest. I’ve never thought this game would turn into WoW in space, but I can’t really deny that argument anymore:

    Mage/Priest – Consular
Warlock – Inquisitor (probably no pet, but I wouldn’t put it past them at this point)
    Paladin – Knight
    Warrior – (Obvious)

All we need now are totems… of course who knows, Consular’s may get them.

Maybe I’m being overly negative, but Bioware had a chance to be original and completely screwed the pooch on this one.

    • Exactly what I said once before on the forums.
And i agree the consular is more or less likely going to be a mage/priest
Inquisitor- Warlock/ priest (because the Empire would need a healer too)
Knight- Pally (oh god, I hate pallies :P )
      Sith –>WARRIOR: is well a warrior…

Personally when I saw the other force user classes I immediately freaked, but now it’s starting to fall into place a little bit better. I becoming more comfortable with this, however I still think OP might play a big problem in this.

  18. My very first disappointment in Star Wars: The Old Republic. That’s all I have to say. A shame.

  19. I don’t know what to think of this. Initially I’m not a big fan of 4 force classes. But I can understand the thought though. This is probably the single dumbest or smartest thing Bioware could do. Time will tell I guess.

The only thing I’m disappointed about is the fact that a Jedi is a Jedi and a Sith is a Sith imho. So there are actually six classes, but they aught to play like eight.

AND…Trooper is still my favorite :)

  20. Makes very little sense to me… wouldn’t it have been better to simply have talent/ skill trees in each class that defined the play-style? (e.g. Jedi = Guardian/ Sentinel/ Consular).

IMO this just seems redundantly… redundant. =\

  21. to say that I am disappointed would be an understatement

  22. Jedi Consular and Sith Inquisitor?
These classes sound more Force-oriented than their melee counterparts.
I think it’s safe to say that mostly everyone knows how the Jedi Consular is like, however i was more than curious to understand what exactly the Sith Inquisitor implies.
The dictionary defines ”inquisitor” in the following manner:

1.One who inquires: inquirer, investigator, prober, querier, quester, questioner, researcher.
2.One who conducts an official inquiry, usually with no regard for human rights: interrogator, questioner.

At first I thought that this would be something similar to Darth Nihilus, being driven by some hunger and using the Force in extremely destructive ways. However the definition implies him as a sort of person who uses his abilities to obtain results and answers. We might be looking at a type of torturer or maybe something similar to Starkiller.
Time will tell I suppose. Can’t wait :)

    • I agree these two classes do look like they’ll be more force oriented. I also think that the sith inquisitor will heal, and so will the Jedi consular. Just think about it, they are both force oriented. And the inquisitor sounds like he’d damage (more or less likely by using DoT moves) and then also be able to heal, like he’d “interrogate” his enemies and then he’d heal his allies. And the sith warrior would tank as apposing to the sith inquisitor who’d heal. And Vis Versa for the Jedi knight and Jedi consular, knight would tank, consular would heal (hint “consoling” lol).

  23. 4 force users 4 non force users…

Jedi knight, sith warrior – melee combat

Jedi consular, Sith inquisitor – force casters

They might look the same but they’r not!

I dont understand why some people are dissapointed with this, because they have 4 awsome classes… trooper, bounty hunter, smuggler and the imperial agent, all of them look awsome and why didnt seen much from them!

    • Yeah been saying this for awhile now.

The game now has 4 force users and 4 blaster users. Sounds like a very balanced game to me.

  24. Nooooo, this dashes my hopes of seeing the Imperial Janitor class!! I’m so angry. Why give us four force users when I could be playing a janitor?!?!

    • May the Broom be with you :D

    • In one of the QandA sessions they had at PAX they said it was the Sith Houskeeper, not janitor.

  25. I don’t know. I will try not to jump to conclusions because I want to see footage of these classes, but I am a little disappointed that they are force users. It just seems lame to have this and not be able to choose a more “caster” oriented jedi/sith through talents/skill points. I have faith in BW though that they can make it unique, however right now I am a little upset with this choice.
