Friday Update: Planet Reveal and Threat of Peace.

A new planet for Star Wars: The Old Republic was revealed today on the Holonet: Dromund Kaas.

Colonized and built upon by the Sith Empire, Dromund Kaas is home to the Emperor and his Dark Council. Almost completely forgotten for over a thousand years, the rediscovery of this world prompted the Sith surprise attacks that plunged the entire galaxy headlong into war. Despite being off the map by comparison to more heavily visited planets, such as the training world of Korriban, Dromund Kaas is very much the center of the Empire. Although the Emperor himself seems to have fallen silent recently, his Dark Council may have awakened a dangerous, hidden power within the planets jungles and ruins.

Access the HoloNet records to learn more about the mysterious past, and uncertain future of Dromund Kaas. Also, explore Dromund Kaas in this planet flythrough video, and be sure to check out the media section to see the latest wallpapers, screenshots, and concept art

Along with the new planet was the release of Threat of Peace #23. Have fun going through all of the new data to find out new facts on the game.

Update: According to Xanamiar and Zenkou the holonet page says "Revans Disappearance" in Aurebesh.

The best sith planet so far and overall in my opinion. The capital for the sith looks perfect in my vision, and I believe that the emperor is going to be one massive, powerful person. The amount of detail and effort in the environment makes the place so evil and dark within the entire planet. I am hoping that we get an idea of what is really going on with the emperor and the recent past about. The timeline should explain this once they talk about Revan. Though, I am very pleased by BioWare once more with their ability to create unique, different planets in their star wars lore. :)

im really liking how each planet so far has atleast 1 big city, and that all these cities are unique and have their own feel. In many games u can see how the building styles are the same in most cities, or that there is 1 big city in the game and then the rest are just half-assed villages. Here though, all of these look amazing. Im rllly excited to explore all these cities

Dromund Kaas sounds like the Imperial "Epic-level" planet, much in way that Korriban is the "Starter-level" planet.

Comment by Xavier made on January 8th, 2010 at 4:37pm
Coruscant is to Tython as Dromund Kaas is to Korriban.

Weather effects confirmed. Red zones are probably locked content, or areas that aren't finished yet.

Overall, very nice. Reminds me of Heart of Darkness.

Then, glad we could help. My work hasn't blocked the TOR site yet...

Comment by Xavier made on January 8th, 2010 at 4:38pm
That and the holonet description confirms that it is, as well as confirming that it is the home of the Emperor and the Dark Council.

Comment by Deidare made on January 8th, 2010 at 3:47pm
Yes, with the screen shots of the Sith capitol and a quote from the holonet that says: "Imperial Capital" I believe its safe to say it is. :)

Comment by RogueJedi86 made on January 8th, 2010 at 2:53pm
The aurebesh near the top of the Dromund Kaas page does say "Imperial Capital", which basically confirms it.

Comment by Roflmywaffles made on January 8th, 2010 at 2:36pm
I do believe so. With the whole city look and the dark council on the planet. Its probably the best guess.

"Even though the planet is bristling with the energy of the dark side, it is the Imperial military that has the largest visible presence on Dromund Kaas. It is here that the Empire’s power brokering games are played and alliances are forged and broken. For up-and-coming Moffs and Imperial intelligence operatives, success – and survival – hangs on the ability to master these games of intrigue."

That part makes it sound like DmK is where Agents will start out at.

Comment by Deidare made on January 8th, 2010 at 3:49pm
Yeah, that’s what I used to think too Rogue, until the recent Imperial Agent article on the TOR website said that Nal Hutta would be their starting planet.

Comment by Evel made on January 8th, 2010 at 12:53pm
Imperial Agents are on Hutta. That is why they are referenced in the "See Also" section at the bottom of the page.

Comment by Alex made on January 8th, 2010 at 1:08pm
They have never said that Imperial Agents start on Hutta, although I think they will it is meerly speculation due to the videos shown of the IA running around on Hutta, it makes sence since the two jedi classes both start on 1 planet (tython), two sith classes both start on 1 planet (Korriban) and the two republic blaster classes both start on 1 planet (Ord Mantell) which following the trend must meen the IA starts on hutta.

The info says "For up-and-coming Moffs and Imperial intelligence operatives, success" which suggests that new IA don't start out at there HQ.

Comment by sgtsavage made on January 8th, 2010 at 3:15pm
Actually, in the latest article about the Imperial Agent on SWTOR.com specifically said that the Agents start out on Hutta. It is hinted that you are on a mission to try to strike some type of deal with the Hutts.

The only thing possitive I can say is that they are probably absolutely sure the planets are done and ready for showing. Other than that...meh :|

Mind-blowing. I foresee a great battle in those dark skies when we finally bring the fight to the Emperor :P Ok, enough day dreaming for now... It's really nice to see the Sith Capital at last. The buildings have that nice dark touch.
If some people have been to Paris, you will notice from the little video that they made a certain room resemble the interior of the Louvre Museum. Really nice.

As far as the webcomic went, I thought Satele had and interesting choice of words. We are supposed to assume that Lord Baras is talking about Darnala when he says "She will turn."

What if he meant Satele. Remember she was stuck with that Sith Protocol droid forever. What if Baras used that droid to manipulate her. Inform her that Darnala lied, that she'sn not really dead.

Satele supposedly inherited battle meditation from Bastilla. The Sith would greatly desire such an ability, if they didn't have it already.

Holy bad punctuation Batman!
Sorry, I'm at work and I don't always have time to proof read my posts. I just re-read this one and wow. You'd think I dropped out of the 4th grade. Yikes.

Comment by Sztanyi made on January 8th, 2010 at 3:31pm
when i read it i automatically thought of Satele.. i didnt even realize Damala would be there lol. Idk i agree that the last page looks a bit out of place.

Not sure if its just me, but Damala doesnt feel quite right... and there is definitely something wrong on the last page of this issue... i just cant place it

Comment by JediCosmin made on January 8th, 2010 at 12:25pm
Interesting theory. And quite possible from a logical point of view. It doesn't necesarilly need to be because of the droid, but something about the last page looks a little out of place: first of all, the action takes place in Dantooine's Crystal Cave, a very symbolic place seeing that both Revan and the Exile passed through; second of all, and the aspect which i consider very important - the republic side looks victorious at the end of the comic... and we all know that the Republic side never wins so easily :D In any case, I trust that in the next issue, Satele will confront Dar'nala, and afterwards well... we'll see :)

I'm also happy it is a planet we have not been to often. (I personally have never played there because it is only featured in one game and it is one I didnt manage to pick up.)

Comment by Xavier made on January 8th, 2010 at 12:06pm
Also, apparently some of the Aurebesh on the DK Holonet page reads "Revan's Disappearance." Intriguing...

Comment by Somerled made on January 8th, 2010 at 1:26pm
Could this mean that Revan may be the emperor? Or that his sprit is some how still influencing events like so many long dead dark lords have done?

Comment by Xavier made on January 8th, 2010 at 4:42pm
It's been confirmed for a long time that Revan is not the Emperor. The Emperor was alive during the Great Hyperspace War, which took place around 5,000 BBY. Revan wasn't around until about 3,900 BBY.

Comment by XANE made on January 8th, 2010 at 2:47pm
No, whoever the Emperor is, they were alive and served under Naga Sadow. But I'm confident that we'll see Revan and the exile (or at least some artifacts thereof).

Which game? Mysteries of the Sith? That's the only game I can think that may've had it.

On the note of that game, I remember it had some weird gray monkey things that would melee you a lot. Were those supposed to be Noghri?
