great podcast.....I agree STO is just not a good game...matter of fact..it really sucked(needs a good 2 years of fixing).....I know she loved Dragon Age as well...but for me It was one of Biowares worst games...great cinematics...horrible mechanics and gameplay...when yu actually play the dang thing..instead of watching movies cutscenes..movie cutscenes...movie cutscenes.....Mass Effect 2 is absolutlely one of their greatest games as so far..Currently playing it through again and for me it is probably one of the best games i have ever played.

I guess you just prefer shooters over traditional RPGs... Dragon Age, in terms of mechanics and gameplay, is the most accomplished RPG offering yet seen in the gaming world (at the very least, in my own opinion). Its gameplay and mechanics ideas have been around as long as RPGs have, but BioWare have polished them to new levels. I would put it on a par with WoW in terms of assimilated RPG polish. I would say the only way people could criticise mechanics and gameplay in DAO is if they don't like traditional RPG gameplay.

Just to add, when I say RPG, I'm not including MMORPGs in that. I think Blizzard are still top - if we're including MMORPGs - for polished assimilation of ideas. Hopefully TOR will become the new barometer for that though!

Actually ME2 strikes a perfect balance IMO with story/actual gameplay...there was just enough dialogue and choice it was'nt at all like DAO ..way way to much story ...to much dialogue / and not enough actual gameplay IMO..in terms of mechanics Mass Effect blows DAO out of the water..it was simple ...easy to execute and an absolute pleasure to play.... DAO was WAYYYYYYY to involved where every fight that you encounter require you to select each team member....select what there gonna do ...where there gonna go...blah blah blah...its just way to much to actually enjoy the game....In Mass Effect2 had a brilliant mechanics system...where you use "e" and "q" to tell where your team to go...point and click...and it worked and it was fun....if DAO had a similar story structure and easier controls over your group then it would have been a game that i would most likely still be playing

Nice podcast, I like getting insights from other people's views on mmos. I have to agree that STO isnt one :D I hope Bioware pick up about some of the failings that have happened with STO and dont go that route.

I wish i had my new PC so I could play ME2 and DAO *sniffles*

Little tip if you you played ME 1 on the console then ME 2 on the PC there is a way of getting your save into ME 2..... well kind of.

Theres a site set up where you can download ME 1 saves, I did this because like many of the other ME players I got 1 on 360 and 2 on PC, so I tracked down and found the save that matches all my choices, Paragon/Renagade, money, and class, downloaded it loaded it into ME 2 and I had my character, you can even remodel the face to match your ME 1 character only thing you can't change is the First name that comes with the save, but you never see that beyond character creation so it doesn't matter at all.

I believe that site is called www.masseffectsaves.com, but I'm not 100% on that just smack it into google it should be the first link and theres the solution without buying ME 1 again :)
