Onslaught of the Sith Empire

In the sixth timeline video, Onslaught of the Sith Empire, the initial devastation that the Sith unleashed upon the Republic is explored further. The Republic was caught completely off-guard by the initial assault and the Outer Rim quickly fell to the Emperor. The Republic, at first unaware of the nature of the Sith forces, attempted to establish diplomatic relations with the Sith only to be destroyed in the process.
The failure of these attempts resulted in destruction of many of their hopes, and foreshadowed the imminent onslaught. Many of the Republics allies were turned by the Sith, and puppet governments were established; the Republic forces began to face dangers from all sides. In an attempt to stem the tide, the Republic gathered as many starships as they could to battle the invaders, leaving only a few to guard less vital planets. This action allowed the Emperor to move in and easily capture one of their true targets: Korriban.
The Empire proceeded to cut off vital supply lines, capture resources, and destroy shipyards, further crippling the Republic. The unprecedented attack caught the Republic off guard and forced their people to take on the attitude of every man for himself. This played directly into the Emperors hands, who had intended for the Republic to turn against itself. If not for individuals acting without the Senates approval, the Republic would have been lost.
The attack of the Empire was the most well orchestrated and carefully coordinated military maneuver in the galaxies history. - Jedi Master Gnost-Dural
With an analysis of timeline, it seems that the Emperor is the true star of the video series. His personality, along with that of the Sith in general, becomes more evident with each entry. Overconfidence among the Sith seems to be commonplace, however, the Emperors strategies involving the use of fear and force, as well as his ability to instigate infighting within the Republic, show that the Emperor has a reason to be arrogant. His use of impeccable strategy and tactics in the beginning of the conflict prove the Emperor is a cunning opponent, and his audacious assault on Coruscant proves he is a force to be reckoned with.
As we progress further back in history with subsequent additions to the timeline it should be interesting to learn what else inspired the actions that lead up to the story of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Will we learn how the Emperor amassed his forces? Will we see how the Republic became so complacent and unsuspecting? Will they give us more class history like they have with the Smuggler, Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent? Only time will tell, but no matter what it is, we cant wait to see it.
