While attending GDC last week, Darth Hater was fortunate enough to be invited out to the LucasArts office in San Francisco for a hands-on demo featuring the Trooper class. After finishing our time with the game we spoke with Daniel Erickson, Star Wars: The Old Republic's lead writer about the classes, their stories, and a few of the choices players will be facing in game.

There have been six Star Wars: The Old Republic timeline videos produced and presented by BioWare and LucasArts to date. Each one reveals more about the history leading up to the story we will see in Star Wars: The Old Republic. With an analysis of the timeline videos, both individually and as a whole, an idea of the greater story begins to appear. Dromund Kaas was recently announced as the ninth planet for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Although this planet isn't fairly well-known, Dromund Kaas embodies the idea of the dark side; its corrupting power, its intrigue, and its deadly nature. Identifying how this planet is connected to the Sith Empire helps to understand why this planet belongs in game.

A new planet for Star Wars: The Old Republic was revealed today on the Holonet: Dromund Kaas.

Colonized and built upon by the Sith Empire, Dromund Kaas is home to the Emperor and his Dark Council. Almost completely forgotten for over a thousand years, the rediscovery of this world prompted the Sith surprise attacks that plunged the entire galaxy headlong into war. Despite being off the map by comparison to more heavily visited planets, such as the training world of Korriban, Dromund Kaas is very much the center of the Empire. Although the Emperor himself seems to have fallen silent recently, his Dark Council may have awakened a dangerous, hidden power within the planets jungles and ruins.

Access the HoloNet records to learn more about the mysterious past, and uncertain future of Dromund Kaas. Also, explore Dromund Kaas in this planet flythrough video, and be sure to check out the media section to see the latest wallpapers, screenshots, and concept art

Along with the new planet was the release of Threat of Peace #23. Have fun going through all of the new data to find out new facts on the game.

Update: According to Xanamiar and Zenkou the holonet page says "Revans Disappearance" in Aurebesh.

Today Sean announced the battle of Bothawui and a new Threat of Peace:

The Battle of Bothawui

A new holorecord in the Jedi Archive captures a poignant moment in the Republics recent history. Master Gnost-Dural recounts the story of the battle of Bothawuia battle in which the courage and sacrifice of Jedi and Republic forces scored a major victory against the Sith Empire.

BTC 18 Nearly a decade after the return of the Sith Empire and the start of the Great War, the Empire had scored dozens of victories, establishing its dominance in the Outer Rim. As the Sith turned their forces toward the Mid Rim, however, the Republic prepared a bold surprise. When an Imperial squadron arrived to seize control of Bothawui, the entire Republic fleet was waiting. The fleets victory was celebrated across the galaxy, but the truly inspiring moment was yet to come. As the Republic fleet dispersed to defend other battlefronts, only a small force remained behind to face the Empires retribution. The Jedi and Republic troopers on Bothawui never had a chance of surviving the Imperial attack, but their courage and selflessness in the face of impossible odds won a victory far greater than that from any single battle. The heroic stand on Bothawui restored hope across the galaxy, and rallied the Republics forces to fight with renewed courage.

Watch the fifth Timeline holorecord, The Battle of Bothawui, narrated by actor Lance Henriksen.

Threat of Peace #18
The eighteenth issue of Threat of Peace is full of suspense and suspicion. Jedi Master Orgus Din is called away from Balmorra to pursue a suspect in the Senate Tower bombing, the Bounty Hunter Braden. Meanwhile, Lord Baras foils an assassination attempt on Korriban, and Jedi Knight Fortris Gall requests Lieutenant Tavuss help on Dantooine.

Korriban was the original homeworld of the Sith species. It houses many of the tombs for the ancient and powerful Dark Lords of the Sith, thus it is a haven for the dark side of the Force. It is the place where the Sith Academy lies and where you will start out if you decide to play as a Sith Warrior. Let us get to know this planet that I am sure many of you will be starting on.

Sith. Is it a species? Is it an empire? Is it an ideology? Lets go with all of the above. Most important when thinking of the Sith these days is the ideology. The Sith Order is the evil counterpart to the Jedi. They stole their name from the first aliens they subjugated when they were exiled from the Jedi Order. Time to put on your thinking caps class, because it is time to study the Dark Side
