So I'm sifting through the E3 Multiplayer Demo (HD), and when I look down at the minimap/radar, I see that it says "Esseles Port Wing".

Which brought me to this: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Esseles
The planet also has little to no history (like Voss), and was "probably a Core Founder of the Republic.".
I am quite TERRIBLE at lore, so tell me if I'm wrong. I just decided to throw this up cause the forums have been quiet lately, at least for me.

Good catch, but Dallas says in the video that it takes place aboard a Republic ship. In other media we have examples of Republic ships being named after planets: Corellia, Brentaal Star. However, the mere fact that the planet is referenced could be significant.

I heard him say that, but I'm thinking of this republic ship itself being a port for the planet Esseles. Again, I'm not that big into lore, but wouldn't they have ports that are actual ships themselves, that orbit a particular planet?

I'm inclined to agree with you. Great find, but let's remember...Corellia is all but confirmed and Brentaal is on the list of strong possibilities.

That could be, but I'm thinking that a space station would be more of a port for a planet. The "Port Wing" is more likely referring to the left wing on that ship.

Exactly... the "Port Wing" portion of what you read almost certainly refers to the side of the ship you're currently located on ie; port or starboard.

However, that doesn't diminish the possibility of this being a planet, and that was an excellent find on the part of the OP. I enjoyed reading the entry in Wookiepedia, and also thought it sounded very much like the type of planet that the DEVs would look to bring into TOR. I'm actually hopefully it will be there now. Sounded like a very interesting and diverse type of world to me.

If it weren't for the confirmation that it is on a ship, it could've still been on a planet. Like imagine the main area on Esseles was a big building with multiple wings. This encounter could've happened in a sideroom in the Port Wing. But Dallas himself saying it's on a ship nixes that. Still, we can speculate.

It'd be nice if the devs would at least be vague and say they have several unrevealed worlds in the works so we have room to speculate. For all we know there could be 13 total worlds in the game or 30. It's fun for speculation, but also a bit frustrating.

Yea. It would be nice if they could at least give us a ballpark range for the planets or tell us there aren't anymore to be revealed.

Even without Dallas' confirmation, "Port", "Starboard" being reserved for ships would nix it being a building. If it was a building on a planet the wings would be labelled in compass directions ( "East", "West", etc).

But the pic does say only Port Wing, so it could've been interpreted as that. Not sure why I'm debating a moot point on whether it's something we already know it's not.

"Port Wing" could refer to a wine and chicken restaurant on the planet Esseles.

Or it could be the spaceport wing of a big space port town.
