Really it was my pleasure leaving a message Sleeper. I appreciate it, and sado, I do kind of sound German in there. Must have just been my phone. I sound different on vent. Loved the podcast, nicely done. I was disappointed on one thing though. I thought you'd have the poll for the dromund kass/zoist sith planet thing. As old as that poll may be I was looking forward to hearing the result. I also sent in a comment for that about dromund kaas, etc. But still, very awesome guys.

The idea of "low power attack that generates energy" is from Champions Online which is like City of Heroes 1.5. I liked that mechcanic as opposed to letting your energy natually recover, slowly.

I'm impressed at BioWare's ability to look at what works in other MMOs, as well as there own single player endeavours.

Its hardly for me to compare this podcast with olders, because I know only 12 and 13. From start to end I was waiting to hear some quotes from community comments, there are some good questions. But in other hand there are some new info that appears in discussion which distinguish it from what is on site - so good job :D Yeah put aside my "lame" complaints, but one thing that crush me and take my sense of humour to the limits is what you said about new game in Star Wars. Lego TOR - ok its a joke but casual MMO! Please NO! It looks like it will be huge announcement so there is place for stuff like Battlefront, TIE Fighter, Jedi Knight (post novels time period plz) ;)

I'm quite sure that I heard barking dog during this podcast, but can't find this moment once again :D

Interesting is that you compare combat experience and pace to Witcher, because it help to imagine how it looks and feel. Of course I remember 20 minutes walkthrough, but this aspects could change since PAX, so thanks for comparison. I glad in second reason that Wither make good impression to some of you, I know that this game can be a bit harder in some way to understand beacause of relation to polish culture. I read somewhere that in America especially this game main protagonist was compared exactly to Jedi because of his powers and sword mastery :D Is that your way to see this game?

I can see the connection between Geralt (sp?) and Jedi now that you mention it, but I don't think I ever actively compared the two before. I loved the Witcher, I bought the European version off line the second it was released and fell in love with it.

The dialogue options were so remarkably un-American in the perfect way. Instead of some stark morality, your choices were grey and subtle, you never really knew if you were making the "right" choice. My friend and I played completely different paths and we saw totally different NPCs because of it.

I hope that the Jedi Knight ends up playing like the White Wolf because I think that is a good mix of sword combat assisted by "magic". If it does end up feeling that way I may change my mind about my force user of choice.

Comment by Pinio made on December 9th, 2009 at 12:18pm
What mean "sp?" ?

Yeah. Witcher is much "grey" than usually are games, it is describe as dark fantasy. Choices mechanics is another similarities to TOR. In Witcher consequences of choices usually finalize after long time. When BW talks about this aspect in TOR they make similar statements - like you make some decision when you level 8 and when you at 40 lv. then something will happen.

Witcher is more action packed than classic RPG, but for me best system to date is what we see in Jedi Academy.

I think we're all in agreement on the casual MMO they talked about.

The dog on the other hand is a bit hard to try to keep out of the podcast...bad vader! *points to colm*

Thanks by the way on the comment ;). Glad to hear you enjoy the cast.

No! Don't do this in future. Vaders opinion is very expected ;) Aside this is better name to dog than dogmeat from Fallout :D

Truly I had a little hope that there are some quotes from my comments like in two last podcasts ;) It interesting to hear like somebody discuss about your point of view, and funny when you try to read it and encounter my language errors. But there are many good questions that appear in comments, so maybe in another time :)

Really substantial and content filled podcast. I’m curious now to learn how many Companions each class will get and whether they are entirely unique per class (or will there be a Companion that is a bit grey and be available to redeem or corrupt by a class on either factions side?). People must be eager to learn (like I am!) if they will have slightly random generated features eg skin tone and patterns etc (is a random name possible with a fully VO game?), or if there will be an army of exact Companion clones running around everywhere...

I personally normally take the Companion I find has the funniest dialogue or the one I’m trying to get into bed with first lol ;-) If those character skill sets are the weakest or most incompatible with my class and preferred spec play style then that will be annoying as I gather you cannot spec or choose skills for Companions as was an option in KOTOR and DA:O for example (or am I way off base?).

My *opinion* on this is based on what Jake Neri told us... the gist of it being that the companions are there to offset your game play style.

While doing some other research, I think James Ohlen told PC Games that they work similar to other BioWare games' companions.

Comment by Sleyo made on December 9th, 2009 at 11:05am
If that's the case I am not looking forward to running around major cities and seeing dozens of clones for my companion. It seems like they could at least do facial features and things like that, and maybe even have at least a few different names for a certain companion(despite that meaning even more VO). If not, maybe it means they think they can give us enough separate companion characters so that a large number of players won't chose the same one.

If we have a larger than normal amount of companions to choose from, I think I might be able to overlook the clones running around. Just my two cents.

Comment by Deidare made on December 12th, 2009 at 6:16pm
I couldn't have said it better Miro, my brother and I were talking about that exact same thing. I'm guessing that BW might just make one base companion "style" such as Kim Vaal, and then give all kinds of different names, and facial/color styles and what not. But it all still would tie back to the same abilities, and that same "Kim Vaal". That’s what I hope BW will do, because I wouldn't want to see tons and tons of "clones" either. Also I wonder what they'll let you do inside the scenarios, and whether you'll have the same companions or not. Just hope some diversity is also put into companions.

Comment by Deidare made on December 12th, 2009 at 11:02pm
And yes, I see what you’re getting at emlaeh, I'm not going against your opinion, I'm just merely stating mine as well, and my concern for what may, but BW will probably resolve, I have trust in BW and LA, I’m sure they’ll make us proud. Certainly more proud and happy than the star wars VGA release ;)

Well, keep in mind I'm going off a translation of a German article, and all this companion stuff is still in development.

You guys mentioned the issue of how story will work with the force users. Meaning how can they distinguish the stories for a sith warrior / inquisitor, or jedi knight / counselor. Im confident they can do a good job on the story.

Looking at the sith, if u look at palpatine's story and darth vader's story, they're different. Palpsy was usually lurking in the dark, planning, and being patient while darth hater was the guy who led the charge, and took on the foe head on. (same example for anakin / obi wan, for example in the dooku fight in Ep2, anakin jumped right in while obiwan wanted to take it easy.

I think the story will reflect on these types of behavior. For example the SI will uncover a betrayal within the sith ranks (wow what a shocker) while the SW is sent to the front lines to fight jedi.

I don't doubt that Bioware can spin a good story no matter the class but for myself I will just have to wait and see. Like I said on the podcast, if there is any company that gets a blank check from me on story in games it is Bioware.

Comment by xyreL made on December 8th, 2009 at 9:24pm
Awesome stuff, just finished listening to both. Just wanted to say keep up the good job and I had this question aswell. You disscused how they were going to seperate the Inquisitor from the Warrior. But now when I'm thinking about it in the developer walkthrough when they showed the sith warrior didn't he go to a tomb to get some artifact aswell? I mean since you got to play the Inquisitor. Was it the same tomb as in the warrior video?

DH Team
Comment by sado made on December 9th, 2009 at 7:37am
It was a different one actually but I went down the tomb that was in the video in the beginning by accident, so I did at least get to see the tomb that is in there. The quest had us travel to another tomb very close by.

I just finished thanks again guys that was a doozie now to get a cup of coffee lol,After i finished i saw this new interview with a possible release date I thought you should all check it out if you have not seen it yet. http://g4tv.com/videos/43089/All-Access-Star-Wars-The-Old-Republic/

Comment by Sleyo made on December 8th, 2009 at 9:19pm
I always kind of assumed it would come out sometime 2010, but I want to know if that is G4 speculating or if they were told that. If they were told it would be nice to hear it confirmed from the devs.

Comment by Deidare made on December 12th, 2009 at 6:09pm
Yeah I G4 TV.com they say the game will be released Dec 31 of next year. I'm just speculating that that’s a guess, and not an exact date. But it’s safe to say that the game would come out around that time next year.

Comment by Zoidberg made on December 12th, 2009 at 6:14pm
When dates are set like that it often means sometime that month/year. Never trust a date at the start/end of a month/year unless it is stated by the people making the game, and it depends on who it is because I dont trust some developers. (cough, cough, Molyneux)

Comment by Deidare made on December 12th, 2009 at 6:27pm
Haha, I agree Zoid, however my gut says it comes out some time around that date, whether its mounth after, its some time around there is what I'm thinking.
