One of the things i noticed in the pvp video was the fact that they had three different classes, Sith Inquisitor, Sith Warrior yay!, and a jedi counslar, we got to see a mix of things between showing that cc isn't going to be almighty and we saw the choke break and a couple of other things break which was great :). But ya great job guys, i enjoyed the detail ya'll put into armor from what you could get out of it. But all in all I give yall a 10/10 podcast wise over all for the year very entertaining, lets get this new year started off great :)

Oh and btw, one of you that have played the game might be able to answer, does tab target the nearest enemy? I'm doing it automatic and would drive me nuts if it wouldent ;)

I haven't listened to the pod yet, but what is the ratio of chit-chat to jibba-jabba in this episode?

Comment by Deidare made on December 29th, 2009 at 4:33pm
@- Snafu: IMO it’s mostly straight forward facts/speculation with a fair amount of fun. Sado orange, rejected haha.

So I learned more about my DH buddies a little more on this short podcast. First, Sado is not a stats guy and like looks. Man, I knew it! A CLICKER just like carrot top guy on that video. Secondly, that pvp segment was poorly demonstrated. The guy was a slow, reactive, clicker player. Yeee, OF COURSE HE WOULD BE STRUGGLING! The two girls were beating on him like they know every ability to continuously bash onto him. It was pretty hectic of what was going on, but I think I'll reserve my judgment for a better detailed pvp video.

Third, it would be logical that hutts don't exist on Tatoonine when they have a planet filled with Hutts. lol (I had to laugh when you guys were figuring out the lore :P). Though, I doubt we are going to see much of a hutt thing in Tatoonine. I was really disappointed by the pick but I hope they make it epic. We shall see.

Forth, I do agree on the part where they need to focus that video to the BH cards. I was so excited to see BH armors until the panned to the SI stuff again. BW is working so hard to make a difference and make them unique. I hope that their efforts will satisfy to the majority and that they continue their consistency into the new year.

Now for my DH end of the year critique:

Verbal Presentation: 9/10 (I like to hear more of the other guys than mostly sado.. no offense.. i like to hear more debating :P)
Written Presentation: 8/10 (Need more people's viewpoints/variety)
Quality: 10/10 (talk about 10 hours of efforts on some nights!)
Appropriateness: 9/10 (Well done)
Enthusiasm: 9/10 (DH team are very dedicated and nice people on vent except sleeper :( ) 3
Innovation: 8/10 (forums)

I have nothing nice to say to people who are nice to me, everyone point and laugh at me! -You know who edited it

Have a kick ass new years! I hope you like my fan art! :)

@-Macer: One- I'm a clicker! And I do just fine thank you very much. I've taken down plenty of keyboard smashers in my day. Second: It was only one girl attacking him, there was a sith warrior girl and a SI dude, and then a Jedi knight girl. So he wasn't getting stomped by both, just one ;) (Until he CCed her that is). And besides no of their health were going down that fast at all. In the first part of the PvP you can see the chick playing the SW had a lot of her health missing and so did the Jedi then suddenly they both get all their health back. Maybe they used a med kit? Also I agree with you that they do need to update the BH and every class’s holonet, and get videos for them. But think the Empire been getting a lot of props lately so the Republic also needs some kind of update too.

I tease but I think we all agree that he was trying to get out of a CC situation. Like you said, I was wondering whether there was a toss heal going on or some regeneration HoT that kept her well alive. I am pretty excited about those armor progression cards, however. I am feeling January will be a huge month to start off the year.

@Sleeper - No worries.. I got your back. Eml and Sado don't stand a chance with the taco gang. ;D

Woot for the Alex Albrecht promoting your website, nicely done there. To start I’d like to say that despite the holiday season you guys gave a good podcast, so thanks for that. Also, I would love to have all those gear designs hanging in my room too (err well basement)! I about the same gear model for higher levels and what not, yes that is annoying, but plenty MMOs do; and I’m glad that BW is trying to stop that by adding similar colors to tons and tons of armor sets for each class. It’s a good Idea that I’m sure will work out, and no matter what level you are you’ll have some pretty cool armor. Plus this is a star wars MMO so come on; I’d wear any gear from the star wars universe. (Twi’lek dance outfit FTW…)

Also if you look closely at the PvP fight scene all the characters are around level 30. Two level 30s and one level 31. Then if you look at their gear it looks pretty basic. That can either mean three things; 1. The level caps fairly high because they’re wearing such basic gear (However I doubt it’d be too high because this is the first game.) 2. The players just never came across, or couldn’t come across any good gear. 3. It’s a demo, so BW won’t let them have that amazing of looking gear, and they’re just using temporary models or lower level gear. (-- Least likely IMO.) Also it appears that every character’s “picture shot” near their health bar had the same picture of a male characters face. Like what WoW has when you click on a player and you see their face (Targeting). Instead of that they had the same guys face. And neither of the girls characters had the face of their female characters for their pictures. That’s just something they apparently don’t have yet.

I love the music they play in background for the whole video. Even if it’s just a taste at the glory to come the song is pretty wicked. And it certainly lives up to the movie music no doubt. Great podcast, thanks again guys!

There is fourth way: they have better gears, but there are no rule that they must wear gears equal to theirs levels :D And yes PvP looks like demo encounter. One thing about character portraits. In developer walkthroughs they are show properly but in one occasion as I remember it don't work. In Smuggler part, when he takes a shots at droid and instead of robot portrait there are human face :D

Comment by Deidare made on December 29th, 2009 at 4:31pm
Ha, fourth way FTL ;). Yeah and obviously for now the portraits are all just placeholders. At least I hope, I don't want something like WAR had when it just had a picture with a skull or dove, whatever it was.

Comment by zechio made on December 29th, 2009 at 7:09pm
WAR had actual moving 3d portraits of your character...it was just disabled on low or med settings or so. There was an option to enable/disable it somewhere in there.

I wouldn't be surprised if TOR did the animated 3d portrait of your own character as well...eventually.

Great Podcast. I hoped you would speculate a little about possible dungeon instances on Tattoine inside the "Secret Weapons complex swallowed by the sands". GJ anyway.

That monastery you were talking about was founded about 700BBY

"The palace was originally a monastery built in 700 BBY by a strict religious order called the B'omarr Monks. The massive compound was built on a remote world, far from any settlements, so as to amplify the Monks’ detachment from the universe. This environment allowed them to concentrate on their studies, furthering their goal of complete disconnection from all external sensation. 150 years after its construction it was discovered by the outcast and rogue Alkhara, who began to use it as a base of operations. The Monks by and large ignored him, and the two groups co-inhabited peacefully for 34 years. Eventually, Jabba discovered the fortress as well, and forced Alkhara out in 516 BBY."

from http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jabba's_Palace

Still think Tat was somewhat of a sellout, and that better planets could have been used, but can't change things *shrugs*

Comment by Bzrk made on December 29th, 2009 at 6:44am
Yeah, the monastery isn't even build in TOR time.

I was really surprised when Tatooine showed up as the new planet. There hasn't been any mentioning of this one at all in the comics, timeline or on the site. I really expected it to be Geonosis or maybe even Dantooine. But still, the planet seems to look better than ever imho.

Still wondering how to get this one as "full" as the other planets though. I mean, the Tatooine we all know is full of little (or bigger) settlements which do not exist yet in TOR time.

Comment by Deidare made on December 29th, 2009 at 1:39pm
@Bzrk: If you mean "full" as in player wise, I don't believe they'll be a problem there. Tatooine is a fan favorite and a lot of people who just want to mess around on Tatooine will go there for PvP, and to spend time dancing in the space ports. (Or it might even attract players if they incorporate a style of mini games into Tat.) But if you mean "full" as in settlements/npcs/landscape, I don't think they'll be a problem their either. Because they state on the holonet that "Between the two, a terrible secret sleeps in the sand." Indicating that there could be some sort of underground dark secrets for both Sith and Jedi, or Empire and Republic in general. Overall Tatooine seems fine with, U too would have preferred something else maybe, but hey Sarlacc pit. Enough said.

Some of the clothing options on that board are the same!! They're not all different!!

Comment by Pinio made on December 29th, 2009 at 8:58am
Pretty less possibly. There are no reason to put same artwork on one board and if this is true then Bioware make bad joke to fans ;) Besides in this quality we can't see this good so wait for better video.

Comment by zechio made on December 29th, 2009 at 12:49pm
still no download too:(

Comment by Pinio made on December 29th, 2009 at 2:04pm
Yep. It's strange why Bioware wait so long instead put download links at once they reveal video?

Comment by zechio made on December 29th, 2009 at 4:02pm
Before they most likely did it to even out the week a bit. This way we had something to look forward to on Mondays.

So the question is, why did we not get it this time? My guess, there is something that becomes noticeable that they might not want us to see just yet. Who knows though...it could be whoever was in charge of it, just plain forgot:)
