I went back and looked at the web comic again after finally getting around to listening to the whole pod cast. Your chat about all the content hinted at in the comic made me think that the last two episodes have been hinting at faction switching. First we have the Wookiee bounty hunter switching sides to team up with the Jedi and a Trooper. Now this last comic ends with the sith propositioning one of the Jedi to join the empire. You could argue that maybe the Wookiee is just a side kick but Shan is a major character in the comic so far.

My question concerns Mass Effect 2. I just want to know who all is buying it and for what platform pc or something else.

So it looks like pc is the answer thanks guys and em!

PC & looking forward to it so much that I can't bring myself to watch any trailers or interviews about it. I want shock & awe.

Comment by Xavier made on January 13th, 2010 at 11:42am
never played the first one, didn't have a 360 at the time, still don't. Should I go back and play the first one on PC before getting the second one?

Comment by Deidare made on January 14th, 2010 at 7:14pm
Thats a fine idea Xavier, theres a lot of story to hear from the first game. And you defiantly wont be bored of it.Along with the fact that its only around $10 now, so its real cheap. Plus your save progress from ME1 can be put into ME2 giveing you a little level bonus, skills, etc. plus you can still change the look of your character if you want a different look; also you can change your class, so its all good.

Comment by RogueJedi86 made on January 13th, 2010 at 12:07pm
It wouldn't hurt. It's a great game, and you get extra stuff in ME2 if you use a save from ME1. So get ME1, beat it, then play ME2. ME is on Steam, not sure the price, but it's $20 tops.

(PC here)
Bioware tries to make a lot of things explain themselves no matter what edition your playing but yes; it wouldn't hurt actually knowing the back-story and how things work.

Xbox 360 for me, I like using a controller much more for the combat, allow key bindings are much more convenient.

Comment by sedde made on January 12th, 2010 at 8:25am
GALAXIES WAS A LETDOWN!? Galaxies is still one of the best MMOs I've EVER played, at least pre-CU. Pffft....

Comment by Fedaykin made on January 12th, 2010 at 12:29pm
It looked so ugly I never bothered trying it. Another opinion.

Comment by Fedaykin made on January 12th, 2010 at 3:51pm
I disagree. I remember it from the launch since I was all "Woah! Star Wars MMO!" and then when I saw it.. "That's not what Stormtroopers look like.."

Comment by Fedaykin made on January 13th, 2010 at 5:34am
I'm a graphics designer, a nitpicker and a perfectionist in one. It takes something like Bioware of Blizzard's quality of graphics to get me to admit it looks nice. ^^

Comment by Bzrk made on January 13th, 2010 at 2:47am
SWG looked awesome when it came out, although the scaling of about everything bigger than a Womprat was a bit off.

The Stormtroopers looked fine to me. :)

Comment by Deidare made on January 12th, 2010 at 8:33pm
Ha-ha, my reaction would have been completely different from yours (fedaykin), despite the fact that they did look pretty weird. If it hadn't been star wars, I probably wouldn't have played it, let’s just put it at that. But I loved the immersive-ness and the fact that everything was player made and player based, defiantly one of my favorite MMOs.

Comment by RogueJedi86 made on January 12th, 2010 at 2:39pm
It only looks ugly by today's standards. Back when it launched, it looked very nice. If you read any review from its launch, its graphics are always a positive. It's hard to age gracefully in graphics. I think FFXI is one of the few that has had its graphics age well.

Comment by Alkarin made on January 12th, 2010 at 10:03am
My interpretation of what he said; it was a letdown for a STAR WARS MMO. And I'd have to agree. A Good MMO is not on the same level of standards as a Star Wars one. :P

Comment by sedde made on January 12th, 2010 at 3:01pm
Yeah, I thought about it for a bit and I agree that lorewise it's lacking. But since I'm not really a Bioware fan I guess it never bothered me :P

For the record it was,

"When was the last time you saw a krogan scientist?"

sry it was bothering me :)

Comment by RogueJedi86 made on January 12th, 2010 at 9:44am
Isn't there all of a single krogan scientist in ME1? http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Doctor_Droyas

David Ellis losing his Midi-Chlorian count after CES does scare me if he was entangling with Pete. haha! (j/k). It was great to hear another from another pod cast's mouth and share his views in what he thinks about the game. I think there is a lot of awkward marking going on and the hardcore people and regulars (me) are starting to feel that it could be a scattered puzzle waiting to be put together. I think the comics are the best marketing out there next to the holocron, and I would not be surprised if this weeks shows the overall conclusion to the battle and what not.

The number of planets blizzard's single planet by far and I think Ellis has a great understanding of what he views bioware as the masterminds of lore and story. This is what they are good at and they wouldn't fuck it up for each class and the planets involved within these so called unique stories. I am hoping that there is more tweaking and more changes with the feedback from us and podcast people, and that they are ensuring that ME2 will be a test of showing what they can do onto SW:TOR.

If you think about it, they made their developmental cycle to where each game improves its innovation and so on and improvement. Dragon Age as being heavy RPG and fluid combat like style to Mass Effect 2 as being cinamatic RPG with great awesome combat to SW:TOR where it combines the two and go x7 other games like Ellis mentioned. THE GAME IS POWERFUL! THIS IS IT! THIS IS WHAT THEY MEAN BY SHOWING OFF THEIR BEST SHIT IN THEIR CONSOLE GAMES! Ellis sees this and the DH team is slapping away the baddies and trollers back to WoW. BioWare is for the people, not the subscriber count. Thank you Ellis.. your not as bad as I thought you were. DH team, good job of getting involved with the deep core and marketing + ME2 spoilers. Me so happy in my pants. :)
