Hopefully the depth of the character sheet and stats, will translate into a large diversity of player character approaches.

How much depth do you think we will see with the 'Alignment' stats?

Sounds like aggro ranges have promise. I hope they are a lot larger than what was seen in WAR, for example.

I would imagine and hope that XP is going to change, and that the demo might have been sped up for demo purposes.

Sounds like the 'Practice Bat', should be replaced with some sort of Sword or blade weapon, imo.

Great podcast. The excitement in your voices about everything is the best. You guys sound exactly like me explaining everything I learned new about ToR this week to my girlfriend. I was giddy as hell.

Could you guess of Darth Hater spot any sliders to customize your character's looks? Such as by in or decreasing bulk, size, etc... ? Or did everyone receive a pre-made character?

Comment by Zoidberg made on June 17th, 2010 at 11:28am
We all got premade characters. However, I did get to see them making the characters and there were about 4 or 5 buttons for preset body sizes. It is possible there could be a slider for personal customization in another screen, but all I saw was the base screen where you go for the basics.

Hmm, thought of a question about the Sith Inquisitor. In a few Star Wars games with Force powers, using 2 hands to cast lightning for example increases its power. Did any of you tinker around with removing the training saber and testing out the powers then?

Nice show for having limited resources! I'm sure it was pretty burdensome, but having you guys all surrounding a single mic huddled up on a bed gave the show a different energy which was fun to listen to.

Thanks especially for trying to make a stab at the Smuggler, even though none of you on the podcast played him/her this time through. Can't wait to see the Smuggler ship (probably some form of a corellian cruiser).

You can bet it's gonna practically be the millenium falcon

Comment by Peterisjustok made on June 17th, 2010 at 11:23am
I hope the change the design a little... I mean, come on... How feasible is it to have the cockpit to the far end of the ship... Talk about a blind spot.

Did anyone get a companion? Curious about combat control -- hoping for something similar to Dragon Age's Tactics system. But since Bio has only revealed Vette so far, I guess we won't see this until later.

any word on ground vehicles that we may use like landspeeders or swoopbikes or even the possibility the use of Tauntaun mounts to use and have the FREEDOM to explore the planets or was it just taking a "Taxi" everywhere. Hope this is not the case :(

You guys mentioned that you were able to die, and on death you are resurrected at a medcenter. I was just curious if there is a death penalty of any sort? A temporary debuff, or maybe armor degradation or something?

Not that we noticed, but there is durability on the equipment so it is very likely.

Outstanding work folks. I always feel like these end too quickly - especially when there is SO much new info. Personally, I'd love to listen to the whole crew go into even more detail on just their "impressions" of the classes and the game in addition to the "facts."

The "adventures of Zoidberg" were at least as interesting as the run down on the class abilities. LOL. (btw... really, really glad those two had their "evil" coffee and pancakes before going to the handson.)

Not sure where to put this, so I'm just adding it to the most recent news ... did a quick translation of the Aurebesh shown in the ships preview video. No real information hidden there, but I thought I'd share it anyway. Aurebesh is the same for both Republic and Sith ship.

At the top of the blue screen it says:
WIREFRAME
DIAGRAM

At the bottom I deciphered:
PLAYER SHIP SCHEMATIC
NOT TO SCALE
WORK IN PROGRESS

SHIP DIAGRAM
WIREFRAME REPRESENTATION
NOT TO SCALE

Comment by RogueJedi86 made on June 18th, 2010 at 1:27am
Bah, you beat me to it. I should've read. I will delete mine. I will say good notice though. :)

-edit- I can still add the stuff I noticed that I had in a second paragraph. "The Republic ship's background shows the outside of the hangar, it looks like Coruscant skyscrapers to me. The background of the Imperial ship's hangar is a bit foggy(possibly snow, or just sunlight), but I do see an identical ship in the background."

Great podcast! Stayed on topic despite the various distractions. Nice to hear Zoidberg got a little peak into the character creation. Any comments about your specific characters? Species, general appearances?

Comment by sado made on June 16th, 2010 at 1:45pm
My trooper was a human male, smuggler was a Twi'lek male, Bounty Hunter was a Rak, and both the Warrior/Inquis were humans. We'll be talking more about the appearances in our various gameplay impressions. No ETA on that yet.

Rakghoul BH? Sounds overpowered bro ;)

Comment by Nexic made on June 16th, 2010 at 2:23pm
Awsome. I'm not sure what you mean by "Rak" though. But Zoidberg got to check out the character selection screen. Didn't he see a list of all the species he could choose from? (and remember some of it)

Have you guys at DH noticed that the male trooper seems to be voiced by the same guy who does Shepard in Mass Effect? (or am I wrong?)

We already knew that Jennifer Hale does the female trooper, so I guess it's not shocking, but still.

I feel like I recognize the voice of that female smuggler too for some reason, but I just can't place it (which really bugs me -_-).

Comment by flem1 made on June 16th, 2010 at 2:27pm
"We already knew that Jennifer Hale does the female trooper"

Is it confirmed that she's the PC? I'm sure she's also Satele Shan, so having a Republic PC talk to "herself" could be odd.

Comment by Dynoco made on June 16th, 2010 at 11:30am
I agree that it sounds very close and i would not be surprised if it was the voice actor that did Shepard ( Mark Meer ). It would not be unlike BioWare to use voice actors that they have for previous games. They used Keith David for Captain David Anderson in Mass Effect and it sounds like he is the narrator voice in the "Hope" trailer.

(dont take my word for it i could be wrong :) )

Expect to hear some very familiar voices.

ps: As long as i get the voice of Minsc from Baldurs gate 1-2 i will be happy

Comment by Caliber made on June 16th, 2010 at 11:21am
Don't think so. They're similar, but not the same.

Comment by McClure made on June 16th, 2010 at 12:51pm
I think the narrator is the voice actor that voiced Jolee Bindo from KOTOR (I forget his name).

Comment by Caliber made on June 16th, 2010 at 1:46pm

Not Jolee. Not Carth/Kaiden Alenko.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1320395/fullcredits#cast

Might be a clue in there.

Comment by Dynoco made on June 17th, 2010 at 12:30am
I have to agree with McClure it does sound very close to the voice actor who did Jolee Bindo. Either way i have no clue. There are so many similar voices that its hard to really tell the difference.

Where the hell are you staying there in LA? I counted 3 police cars/ambulances and 2 fire trucks
Aside from that, nice pod cast. I assume you did that live without cutting anything. While being total nerds, picking up on any catch phrase/word someone dropped, you still managed to stay on topic and were very professional. Like it.

Training-wheel beat-sticks ftw!
I would imagine that getting the light sabre is part of your right to passage. Class story driven. Sort of "building your own sabre" as a Jedi and claiming/taking it from another Sith apprentice at the academy as in proving to be the stronger one.
Did you guys (and girl) consider that it is meant to be that way, to get angry at all the NPCs that treat you like scum in the beginning? So you build up your anger and rage to finally kill them? I can't wait for the story there.

Comment by Loekii made on June 19th, 2010 at 2:29pm
Lol, that area of town is actually relatively safe. I have been down there for work in the early mornings and we never have any issues. Police cars and helicopters are not uncommon. Had they been down towards the LA mission, they would have seen a far sketcher area of downtown - and that is nothing compared to some areas of outside the down town area. Not to mention, this is LA 2010, with its increased gentrification, rather than LA 1998 where downtown was a ghost town of addicts and homeless by 5pm.

Also, it's nice to finally see the guts of TOR and not just the concepts.

You guys mentioned all the companions on the Empire ship, but didn't mention the companions on the Republic ship. There's a droid standing in the cockpit.

Pause it at 00:47 and standing on the right is a bipedal droid.

There is also a Trandoshan, on the left side of the screen, near the beginning of the Republic ship. At least it looks a lot like a Trandoshan.

Comment by Flagg made on June 16th, 2010 at 8:40am
Got to thinking about the mon-cal mentioning havoc squad. Could possibly have been a purely situational response due to the fact a trooper was present, and grouped with the primary quest initiator. Good food for thought. Thanks so much for doing a podcast from a seedy motel in LA just to keep us up on the news. You guys are awesome! Have a blast and bring me a jedi wookie T-shirt! :)
