Reading the dev blog i get the impression that the game has so much work in it that it will never come out because all of this can't be achieved in perfection.

In the event that any one is interested the german site that orionally posted the untranslated comic a few weeks ago has finally posted issue nine that contains the screen grab that darth hater was given a few weeks ago if anyone wants to check it out and translate it for themselves.

*hint, the emperor is so screwed.

It seems like it is updated every 2 weeks, so catch it here if you want the real latest update for BOTE fans.

The German site updates every week, I am pretty sure they just started doing that with issue 7.

Did you ask Chestney to plug the Jedi Knight? Sure is counter to the perceived Sith favoritism many on the SWTOR forums are espousing. Great cast guys!

I know you guys aren't know for your Star Wars pronunciation skills and you may be correct and I may be wrong. However, I'm pretty sure Lencio is pronounced Len-cee-oh, not len-eek-oh.

Great podcast though, really enjoyed listening to it and killing an hour of my boring work day in my little grey hell...err...cubicle.

Good podcast! Really enjoyed this week's update and hoping we'll get a chance to see the special Comic-Con reveal. Already was following and liking, but did encourage a few friends who already followed TOR to like the Facebook group at least.

Let me guess, the author who did the intro, he writes the story for the Jedi Knight?

Comment by JediCosmin made on July 20th, 2010 at 5:34am
Nope, that was Rob Chestney. The writer for the JK is Drew Karpyshyn.

Comment by r2d2arm made on July 20th, 2010 at 10:43am
Sort of surprised that he plugged the JK story, since he wrote the short story, Smuggler's Vanguard.

Well, he was kinda surrounded by DH guys wearing Sith Empire shirts (not to mention the storm trooper) and he kinda had a Republic shirt on.

The man is a genius then :P
Plus a little light side publicity doesn't hurt, especially since almost every BioWare developer wants to play on the Imperial side.

Great podcast, as always. Rob's comment at the beginning made my heart light up :P
Have fun at Comic-Con!

First - Han Solo's home planet! How freakin cool is that?!?

Second - bet you cold hard credits that the "#3" on that music theme has everything to do with the Class Specifics. (eg; #1 associated with Knight when in that area... #2 associated with Smuggler.... etc)

P.S. my personal favorite part of the Friday update was the Blog by O.K. It was just so well written imo.

P.P.S. thanx for the nod with the reference to the "giant beast" in the webcomic... for those who followed a thread on the forums related to that - I have already admitted my extreme age and severly poor eyesight... LOL.

P.P.P.S. I'm staying in my freakin' shed!!! And you kids get off my lawn!

PPPP.S. Thank-you so much to Pete ( I assume it was you) for including the "public domain" sounds in the podcast.
Dude... you made my week.

Corellia is also mentioned in the dev blog, it's only "Corellian brandy", but a hint nontheless, right?

"Second - bet you cold hard credits that the "#3" on that music theme has everything to do with the Class Specifics. (eg; #1 associated with Knight when in that area... #2 associated with Smuggler.... etc) "

Really the only time I bet the themes are class specific is during the first 5 minutes of starting your class but once you start the storyline the music becomes location based. The Corellia theme for example starts off with the sounds of a active city and then transitions into a action/combat sequence and then I forget what the second half of the song sounds like. The other themes would represent the different parts of the planet and what you'll be experiencing their.

Awesome cast as usual guys! I really love the fact that they are putting so much effort into the sound and voice of the game. Unique mob sounds that never repeat....50 different race dialects....Im sure even the sound effects like blasters and random environmental sounds will be amazing. As for the comic I never read those I guess I should since it seems to actually be part of the game in a way. Hate on!

Comment by Loekii made on July 20th, 2010 at 12:24am
I agree with idea of an 'interesting and engaging' sound effects and how it really enhances gameplay.

There were a lot of little sfx in WoW, that I discovered I really enjoyed when I would try games that have fewer and lower SFX quality.

Comment by Dasmordo made on July 21st, 2010 at 11:11pm
I agree, Sound effects are very engaging, Aion for instance had amazing sound effects during combat. That game the attacking sounds really stood out unlike other MMO's I've played.

that's b/c what they wanted was double what they could get and I knew it immediately when I saw it... oh well

It did seem on the high side at first until he clarified that it was going to be the combined total from the French, German and English-speaking communities on each. Right now, we're still nearly 10k short on Twitter, and almost 45k short on Facebook, sadly.
