That Hopping around in WoW wasn't pointless and sounds to me that the combat wont be as good as WoW, besides Bioware have never made a good combat system.

I dunno why you guys are being so positive, we always get this fluff bullshit before an MMO is released and turns out the game sucks. Just say the truth and stop trying to gloss over everything.

BioWare has always done single player games, thus single player style combat systems. We will have to wait and see, and from what we have seen and played at LucasArts, the combat is shaping up nicely, but time will tell.

What have we lied about before that deems your last statement appropriate?

Hey guys, first time poster here, but long time listener. Glad to a part of the community.

I'm excited for the companions actually. I'm sure they won't perform up to par with that of an actual player, I'm still happy to see something fit the void of not always having someone around to fill a role. The only thing that concerns me is the healing...

It would be nice to have some control over your companion, similar to a pet like someone mentioned before. Something like choosing buffs and which spells/skills are to be used/not used.

With the emphasis on companion characters being able to "fill voids" to some extent, one has to wonder how Bioware will balance them for purposes of end-game and/or for simply players who do not wish to be tied up with an additional character.

On one hand, if there are enough choices w/ companions, one could be as involved as a WoW hunter's pet, or as passive as a WoW phase-shifted warlock imp. Yet none of their examples were of such a passive nature as yet. If the companions are really going to be worth anything other than cosmetics, than players (particularly min-maxers and raiders) are going to balance around their presence. As such, Bioware has to do the same, and that seems to imply they will be a forced option.

Hopefully there are some passive varieties (small attribute buff or very minor boost that requires no player input) so not all of the companions turn the player into a pet class. There is also the possibility to not allow them to work in raid environments or arenas (if there are such things) as to make them only an option for solo play and questing, etc. So there are some possible work around solutions available. I'm just very curious to see how Bioware will approach this potential problem.

As far as a bounty system goes that you guys slightly mentioned at the end, i think that its viable. I believe that it's easily possible for both sides. For Imperials it would obviously be bounty hunters taking up bounties, and for republic i think it would be done by the trooper. First of all they are the BH's "mirror" class, secondly it could be made to fit with the story, saying that these are dangerous people that threaten the republic, and the govt needs the help of the most elite commandos to take them down.

That was our fault, sorry about that. Our site was completely down at the time, tried to prepare for it but wasn't able to send the emails out or post something on the site alerting everyone to the fact that we weren't passwording the server. We ended up just leaving the server open and posting it in the general forum. Had about 100 people (not including us) on the server for the Q&A but definitely next time we will do it better.

All in all we thought it still went well and was extremely fun to do (audio issues aside).
