Don't know what IRC is?

Internet Relay Chat is a client for Linux/Mac/Windows that can be used to communicate, share, play or work with others on IRC networks around the world, either in multi-user group conferences or in one-to-one private discussions.

There are plenty of options to connect to the channels listed above and also in the thread. There are literally hundreds of different IRC clients out there and nearly all of them are free to use. The IRC client I generally use is Mibbit which can be accessed here. If you have a minute jump in one of the IRC channels listed above and say hello.
